50 entrepreneurs and small business owners from Southern Libya enrolled in the first training cycle under the Wafa Fazzan Project. Over the course of 20 training days, Frontier Libya delivered an intensive, hands-on program built around practical skill development, not theoretical lectures.
The program covered 3 core areas: basic and advanced financial management, digital marketing, and human resource management. These represent the most common skill gaps among small and medium enterprise owners in the region. For most of these entrepreneurs, ambition and ideas were never the problem. What was missing were the practical tools to manage their businesses effectively.
What sets this cycle apart is the diversity of participating projects. The program was not limited to a single sector. It included businesses in food production, handmade crafts, agriculture, and catering services. This diversity was intentional, reflecting the project’s commitment to supporting activities that are genuinely aligned with local market demand and the cultural heritage of Fezzan, not activities copied from models that do not fit the region.
Results
- Program completion rate: 100%
- Female participation: 45% of total trainees
- Geographic representation from multiple municipalities across Southern Libya
- Measurable improvement in participant competencies across all 3 areas, based on pre- and post-training assessments
This cycle is not the end of the journey, but the beginning. Participants who completed the program are now eligible to enter the evaluation and selection phase for financial grants, the next step in the Wafa Fazzan Project.
